How local charities benefit from 100 Women Who Care Uxbridge will be the topic of our guest speakers at the upcoming Uxbridge Networking Group Breakfast on Tuesday November 11th, 8:15-9:30am at Scrambles Restaurant at Foxbridge Golf Club.

New members welcome. Join us for an introductory meeting. For inquires, e-mail networkinggroup@uxbridge.com.

Guest Speakers:
Andrea M. Scowcroft, Co-Founder,
100 Women Who Care Uxbridge, and
Hayley Waines, Uxbridge Youth Center.

100 Women Who Care was started in November 2006 by Karen Dunigan of Jackson, Michigan, as a brilliantly simple way to raise money efficiently and quickly for local charities. Her group of 100 Women, at their first one-hour meeting, each wrote a cheque for $100 directly to the charity, raising $10,000 to buy 300 new cribs for an organization in their city.  Since then, they grown to over 200 members and 100 Women Who Care chapters are forming all over the country.

Andrea Scowcroft brought the idea to Uxbridge after speaking to her sister, Meighan, who belongs to the chapter in Kingston. When she told her friends, Janice Fitger and Mimi Brown about the idea, they immediately offered to help! Miranda Sheppard has been an amazing help with the initiative from the beginning and in fact was their first member! Miranda joined the Executive as the Creative Director.  Together, they co-founded 100 Women Who Care Uxbridge!

The next 100 Women Who Care Uxbridge is on Wednesday Nov. 26, 7-8pm at Wooden Sticks. Visit the website at www.100womenuxbridge.com for further info.

About the presenter:

Lisa Ritchie, CPA, CGA

My practice provides accounting, bookkeeping and tax-related services to small and medium sized businesses in Durham and York Regions.

I have worked as an accountant in professional practice since 1995 and I received the CGA designation in 1999 .

My greatest strengths as an accountant are communication, dependability, conscientiousness, and experience with a wide variety of clients and industries.  I feel it is important for clients to be involved with and understand their business, accounting, financial and tax situation.  When unusual circumstances arise I actively research the correct treatment of the particular situation.

Due to continuous change in the business environment, and rapidly changing tax laws, professional advice is essential for business success.

Whether you are starting a new business, or need a new accountant, please call me and we can discuss your unique situation and needs.
